For the past two years, [Faith] Couts, now 50, has been working toward a degree in the UC Irvine School of Social Sciences. And so has her son. A mother and son attending the same college in the same university at the same time. Pretty cool. But it gets better. When Couts walks across the stage on Friday June 16, to accept her diploma in social policy and public service, she will be the first in her family to graduate with a bachelor’s degree. Following right behind her will be [son Hunter] Wetzel, 22, who will be accepting a B.A. in anthropology.
