Through a series of tests, researchers found that speaking less clearly can be more beneficial when it comes to dating. We don't know about it professionally, however. "From a sexual selection standpoint, males with traits that are slightly more masculine than average are typically preferred, which in this context would make males with less clear speech more attractive," said study co-author Dr. Daniel Stehr, [a graduate student and researcher at the Visual Perception and Neuroimaging Lab] from the University of California-Irvine.
