Increases in minimum wages appeared to be the most significant factor in pushing teens out of the workforce, researchers found. β€œIt seems to just be diminished work opportunities,” said David Neumark, economics professor at University of California-Irvine and the author of the study. β€œThey are more likely to just be in high school.”
