Minimum wage boost will hit poor areas hardest

David Neumark, a UC Irvine economics professor, predicted that the climb to a $15
minimum wage could reduce employment of minimum wage workers by at least 5 percent
to 10 percent. “I would go so far as to call this [minimum wage proposal] reckless,”
he told the Associated Press on Monday.
