This documentary takes place shortly before the June Presidential election and provides an extraordinarily intimate glimpse into the current situation in Iran

Angels of the House of Sun
(2009, 53 minutes)

A documentary about a women's shelter in one of Teheran's poorest neighborhoods.

Followed by Q & A with Filmmaker, Rakhshan Bani-Etemad

Free and Open to the Public

Film director and screenwriter Rakhshan Bani-Etemad was born in 1954 in Tehran. She has a BA in film directing and began her career as a documentary filmmaker for Iranian TV. She made her first feature film Off the Limits in 1987. Her films have won many international awards. She has served as the member of jury in several international film festivals and is now considered one of the best Iranian directors.
