UC Irvine Chicano/Latino studies professor Laura E. Enriquez and fellow University of California researchers have spent nearly a decade working together to shed light on the successes and struggles of the state’s undocumented and immigrant-origin student populations. “We really wanted to make sure that we don’t just paint a negative picture. I think students are doing a lot to help their families, to be resilient, to push back, to get resources – so, relying a lot on social support, on seeking out resources on campus,” says Enriquez.
