Sleep researcher Sara Mednick of the University of California, Irvine, has studied napping in places where it is an ordinary part of the day rather than a private indulgence squeezed between responsibilities. As she explains, “It’s an interesting thought that where napping is a culturally embedded practice, nappers do better.”
