Los Angeles County restaurants struggling to keep up with inflating cost of food

Economists say the war in Iran and the disruption of oil shipments are just a few factors in a perfect storm driving both energy and fertilizer prices up. Getting that food to your table costs a lot more than it used to. βItβs probably grown in the Central Valley of California, or in Iowa, and itβs shipped to your home. So, all of those shipments are more expensive,β says Gary Richardson, UC Irvine professor of economics.
