A major American ruling could see Australian business net kickbacks from the US government after Donald Trump’s "reciprocal" tariff regime went before a powerful court. The US Supreme Court on Friday struck down six votes to three tariffs ranging from 10 per cent to 50 per cent imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. Mr. Trump imposed a 10 per cent tariff globally under a separate trade act later on Friday [local time]. … University of California, Irvine political science professor Louis DeSipio told Sky News on Saturday, however, warned Mr. Trump would not simply accept the ruling. “That will have to be litigated. It will go to a lower court, one that's specifically charged with looking at international trade issues,” he warned.
