Many nuclear safety experts believe there is no threshold below which radiation is harmless, and that as the dose goes up, so does the cancer risk, a view known as “linear, no-threshold,” or LNT. … David Richardson, a radiation epidemiologist at the University of California, Irvine [Joe C.
