Bill Maurer, professor of anthropology and law at the University of California, Irvine, told Straight Arrow News, “The reason why people buy into these sorts of things, really is just the classic fear of missing out, or what people call FOMO, right?” he said. “There’s so much hype in the crypto space. People really have the belief that some of these cryptocurrencies are an opportunity to make a quick killing.” … Maurer agreed that people need to do their research before any kind of investment.
