UC Irvine law, criminology experts release second edition of Rap on Trial: A Legal Guide

The second edition of Rap on Trial: A Legal Guide was released on Jan. 23 with new sections and revisions that reflect the latest legislative developments regarding the use of rap lyrics in court. The guide is co-authored by Jack Lerner, clinical professor of law and director of the UCI Intellectual Property, Arts, and Technology Clinic (IPAT), and Charis Kubrin, UCI professor of criminology, law and society. Law students in the IPAT Clinic contributed substantially to the second edition through research, drafting and editing.
