“KCAL News Orange County reporter Michele Gile takes a look at where the housing market is now and where it may be headed… UCI economics [assistant] professor, Jack Liebersohn, says this isn’t a buyers’ or a sellers’ market: From the perspective of buyers, yes, prices are falling but interest rates are a lot higher, which made it a lot harder to buy a home. From the perspective of sellers, the prices are falling – which isn’t great – but at the same time, a lot of sellers have locked in low mortgages rates and, as a result, they aren’t willing to sell homes that they might otherwise sell.”
