Mehdi Zolfaghari had worked in the Office of the Supreme Leader of Iran for ten years until a falling out led him and his family to seek refuge in Thailand. He sought political asylum for years before the U.S. accepted him in 2013. On Oct. 20, the UCI alumnus shared his journey with alumni and community members as part of the be BOLD 2.1 speaker series.
