It’s been a week since Haiti’s president Jovenel Moise was assassinated. As a state funeral is being planned for the murdered leader, other politicians in Haiti are battling over who should lead the country. … What can the US and other countries do to help Haiti out of this crisis? Do the people of Haiti even want our help? Mamyrah Douge-Prosper is currently in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She’s an [assistant] professor of global studies at the University of California-Irvine, and her expertise is in Haitian social movements.
