Economists still can’t decide whether the minimum wage is a good thing

Economists like the University of California, Irvine’s David Neumark and my colleague
Allison Schrager support boosting this credit rather than the minimum wage. Neumark
and Schrager are from a long line of economists concerned about how free markets for
labor impact the poor, but question whether the minimum wage is the best tool to address
those issues.
