It's unclear how David defines "the majority." It is true that a handful of labor-backed
researchers like James Parrott at the Fiscal Policy Institute have called the methodology
"outdated," but a majority of the most rigorous journal-published academic studies
on this subject − as summarized last year by UC Irvine economist David Neumark − prove
him wrong.
