The Olive Tree Initiative has come a long way since its grassroots formation by UC
Irvine students in 2007. Initially organized as a vehicle to facilitate firsthand
fact finding in the Middle East by politically and religiously diverse students, the
organization is now established on 10 campuses and is considered a model for experiential
learning.
