The American Mock Trial Association recently reported UC Irvine’s Mock Trial team
has the best overall three-year record in the country. The team beat out 600 other
teams, including Harvard University, Yale University, UCLA and UC Berkeley… Elliot
Hui, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, is the recipient of a Young Faculty
Award from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. The award includes
$425,000 in funding over two years for research on the way proteins react to different
wavelengths of light… Christina Ong, a UC Irvine political science major, has a heart
for change. The 20-year-old was recently one of five U.S. students named a winner
of Microsoft’s YouthSpark Challenge for Change contest for the peace curriculum plan
she devised with the Center for Citizen Peacebuilding at UC Irvine.
