From the OC Register:
After two years of renovations, Northwood Community Park Center is bigger, better and back for business. It's been a bumpy road getting the place built. The project, which ran into unexpected complications updating deteriorated fixtures, was beset by cost overruns. But the new, Wi-Fi-equipped space – certified by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – finally opens to the public Saturday, with classes beginning Monday. We took a tour of the new digs Wednesday. Read on for what you can expect of the remodeled neighborhood hangout...Before you go any farther, try poking around on the foyer's smart table that has a touch-screen computer as its surface. Think of it as a solution to the mess of staples, pushpins and fliers plastered over older community centers. (Though there's a spot for that, too, on the far wall.) Here you can sign up for classes, browse the city's website and flip through a history of the entire Northwood site. Thank a few smart students from the UC Irvine School of Social Sciences and School of Informatics for that invention.
