From the Orange County Register:
Oklahoma City Thunder Coach Scott Brooks, who has rapidly gained a reputation as
one of the top coaches in the NBA, remains true to his school. He demonstrated that
Tuesday, lending his support for the second year in a row to the UCI/Scott Brooks
Golf Invitational at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach. "I'm proud (to be a former Anteater).
I wouldn't be in a position I was in as a player and a coach if it wasn't for UC Irvine.
Coach (Bill) Mulligan taught me a lot of valuable lessons as a player and a coach,"
Brooks said. The tournament sold out a month ago and and attracted 144 golfers. The
tournament raises funds to support student-athlete scholarships at UCI. Brooks knows
how important that is.
