San Clemente has ties to U.S. Olympic volleyball

If you've been watching the U.S. men's Olympic indoor volleyball team in action during
the London Games, you might not have realized that one of the players is from San
Clemente. Brian Thornton, 27, is a 6-foot-3 setter who joined the national team in
2009. He's a 2003 graduate of San Clemente High School and was part of UC Irvine's
NCAA Division I men's volleyball national championship team in 2007.
