From the Newbury Port News:
Many worry about the cost of health insurance as they are un- or under-employed.
As it happens, under ACA, however, a family of four earning under $92,000 gets tax
credits for insurance plans purchased through exchanges. And here is a major cost
reduction: The act expands Medicaid to millions not now eligible to enable them to
use lower cost primary care instead of outrageously expensive emergency rooms as they
do now, assuming this will reduce per-person health care costs. Although it's not
in effect until 2014, a current three-year study by the University of California,
Irvine and the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System suggest that ACA is
on the right track.
