Welcome Week 2009

Welcome Week 2009
- September 22, 2009
- Social Sciences welcomes nearly 1300 new freshmen, transfers and graduate students to campus for fall 2009
Social Sciences freshmen and transfer students packed Anteater Ballpark on Monday,
September 21 for the school's annual welcome ceremony. This year, 507 freshmen, 710
transfers, and 80 graduate students joined the already 7000 student strong Social
Sciences student body, helping the school keep intact its top standing as the largest
academic unit on campus. After welcomes and introductions from the Undergraduate Student
Affairs office, the new anteaters were led in an official "zot, zot, zot!" by Barbara
Dosher, dean, before the field was turned over to Dave Leinen, assistant dean, who
tossed out the ceremonial first pitch.
