Co-hosted by the Overseas Young Chinese Forum (OYCF) and the Long U.S.–China Institute at UC Irvine, this interdisciplinary conference brings together scholars, educators, students, media professionals, and community members to examine one of the most consequential social policies in modern China: the one-child policy.

Centered on the theme “History, Politics and Policy: Chinese One-Child Policy 35 Years,” the conference explores the policy’s institutional logic, political evolution, social consequences, and demographic legacy through conversations spanning sociology, history, gender studies, law, media, and public policy.
