Despite decades of policy attention, the Black-White wealth gap has widened through the pandemic, even as Black households have achieved higher absolute wealth and educational attainment. This talk challenges conventional approaches to understanding and addressing racial wealth inequality through three questions: Are we measuring the gap correctly? Are we explaining it correctly? Are we proposing the right solutions?
