This talk introduces the concept of queer throughlines to examine how queer and trans activism unfolds across Korea and its diaspora. Rather than relying on linear narratives of progress, queer throughlines weave together the affective connections that link struggles across borders, movements, and generations, viewing them as recursive spatial practices that create provisional forms of belonging and kinship in the face of social and institutional hostility. Specifically, Han will discuss the parent-led advocacy in PFLAG Korea and community screenings of the documentary Coming to You (2021), tracing how families and everyday encounters become sites of political transformation.
