Learn how to strategically expand your reach and share scientific results with community partners, advocacy organizations, practitioners, and policymakers. UCI researchers, including faculty, postdocs, and graduate students are invited to learn active dissemination and knowledge translation strategies to enhance the policy impact of their research. The presentation will include a brief overview of the policy process and approach to identify the policy-relevance of attendees’ work with examples from public health and health services research. You will learn translational approaches to reach diverse stakeholder audiences and hear about new policy citation tools to track reach and impact.

Denise D. Payán, Ph.D., MPP is an associate professor in the Dept. of Health, Society, and Behavior at the Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health at UC Irvine. Payán is also faculty director of the California Initiative for Health Equity & Action (Cal-IHEA), a statewide research and policy center based at UC Irvine that supports the translation of research evidence into health policy and practice.
