Chasing the Archive: The Adventure of the Paula Project
Isabel Wu, Ph.D. candidate from the History Department, will present her experience researching the history of the Paula magazine during the dictatorship
in Santiago, Chile from Sept. 2023 to Jan, 2024. Her research experience in Chile
is nothing short of adventure. The Chinese saying “Bad luck. Good luck. Who really
knows?” perfectly encapsulates her journey. She will talk about how the initial setback
of her research had turned out to be a fortune that led her to major discoveries,
renewed perspectives, and significant relationships with the community she based her
research in.
