About the talk:
Sara Fingal researches the construction of landscapes of leisure along the Baja California coastline from the postwar period through the 1980s. Through an investigation of American architects, homebuyers, and Mexican government investment in tourism projects, Fingal argues that the this built environment extended the U.S.-Mexico borderlands from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas.

Sara Fingal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of American Studies at California State University, Fullerton. She specializes in American culture, California history, North American environmental history, the U.S.-Mexico borderlands, and human interactions with water resources
