The expansion of health insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act may have impacted individuals’ lives beyond their health. Data from the Current Population Survey document the ways in which the ACA’s dependent coverage provision and Medicaid expansion changed young adult family formation behaviors cohabitation, marriage, and childbearing) and test for heterogeneity by gender, race/ethnicity, education, and poverty status.
