crossing the pacificWho is behind the country's leading research on China today?

On Saturday, May 20th, Crossing the Pacific will bring together twelve esteemed scholars of Chinese descent who each made the critical decision to leave China in order to pursue graduate degrees in the United States. As experts in Chinese politics, society, culture, and history at top American universities, they will speak on issues related to their educational experiences and personal backgrounds, as well as the passions that ignited their scholarship in the first place.

Join the Long Institute in getting to know the people behind the research, shedding light on the complex relationship between identity, scholarship, and memory.
