Daniel Ziblatt is Professor of Government at Harvard University. His research and teaching interests include democratization, state-building, comparative politics, and historical political economy, with a particular interest in European political development. Ziblatt is the author of Conservative Political Parties and the Birth of Democracy (2017, Cambridge University Press) and Structuring the State: The Formation of Italy and Germany and the Puzzle of Federalism (2006, Princeton University Press).
