Dr. Anderson is a historian of philosophy working primarily on Kant and post-Kantian philosophy. His talk concerns the proper methodology for the history of philosophy, and argues against both a presentist application of the principle of charity and radical historicism that presumes no overlap between the concepts of the target philosophy and our own.
