Join visiting scholar Zhang Baijia, a historian from Peking University and Renmin University, for an insider's look into what's shaped today's China and how the country will likely adapt as a result.

About the Speaker: Professor Zhang Baijia is a respected historian whose study of China's modern era undergirds his analysis of the country's contemporary development. A public intellectual, he has been a lifelong academic, teaching at Peking University and Renmin University of China. Zhang has extensive experience in civil service to match. He's served as a senior official on the legislative committee of the National People's Congress of China and deputy director of the Party History Research Center of the CPC Central Committee. He's authored several books on China's modern evolution, including The Communist Party of China and China's Social Development.
