Please join the UCI Center for Citizen Peacebuilding and Students for Global Peacebuilding in an informal conversation and buffet dinner reception with university students from Abkhazia and Georgia in the South Caucasus. They are visiting UCI for a Distance Learning and Dialogue Conference after having participated this past academic year in online conflict resolution courses. The conference at UCI gives them a rare chance to meet with each other across their post Soviet communities divided by war, and to learn about U.S. university life and meet with students, faculty, staff at UCI and the broader community. Participants come from Abkhaz State University, The Caucasian House in Tbilisi, Georgia, Tbilisi State University in Georgia, the Georgian Ministry of Sport and Youth , and International Black Sea University in Tbilisi, Georgia. Participants from each community will discuss their perspectives on their conflict and prospects for resolution, to be followed by a discussion with the audience.
