The Center for Global Peace & Conflict Studies presents

"The Syrian Tragedy: Causes, Dynamics, and Consequences"
with Bassam Haddad, Director of Middle East Studies, George Mason University

Thursday, October 23, 2014
3:30-5:30 p.m.
Social and Behavioral Science Gateway, Room 1517

The human tragedy in Syria continues.  As new players join in, the consequences become ever more devastating. Most American analysis of Syria focuses on "threats" to the region, pushing aside local aspects of the tragedy. In this talk, Haddad will address dynamics of the Syrian uprising, current developments, and the impossibility of "victory" for any side.
