Managing editor of the Washington Post, Philip Bennett, will speak on “Covering Islam: A Challenge for American Journalism” as part of the UCI Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellows Series. Bennett, an experienced international reporter, served as the Post’s foreign editor during wars in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq. Bennett is appearing as a featured speaker in the 2007-08 Peltason Lecture on Democracy, presented by UCI's Center for the Study of Democracy.
