As the largest academic unit on campus, the School of Social Sciences offer a diverse set of academic degree programs, many of which are ranked among the top 30 in the country. Whether you’re interested in studying the different cultures of the world or how housing prices impact the overall economy, the School of Social Sciences has a place for you.

Under the guidance of faculty experts in the fields of anthropology, Chicano/Latino studies, cognitive sciences, economics, international studies, logic and philosophy of science, political science, and sociology, our students - undergraduate and graduate - pursue a rigorous academic curriculum investigating a variety of issues through both quantitative and qualitative research.

Their findings have led to innovative solutions to real-world problems such as the discovery of a link between poverty and diabetes and data explaining how migrating populations affect the global economy. Be it through research or involvement in a number of Social Sciences extracurricular and community outreach programs, our students impact the world around us.

Read on and learn more about our undergraduate and graduate programs and how, as part of the Social Sciences community, YOU can make a difference.
