Study looks into whether immigrants impact crime

A local professor is being honored for her more than 20 years of studying public safety and crime in our communities. … Professor Charis Kubrin, who teaches criminology, law and society at UC Irvine, joined "Your Morning" to discuss the theory. “Basically, there are two key questions researchers are interested in: first, do the foreign-born offend at a higher rate compared to the native-born? And then second, do communities or cities that have higher concentrations of immigrants have higher rates of crime? And the answer to both those questions is no,” says Kubrin.
