UC Irvine Political Science Professor Louis DeSipio said, “Her [Kamala Harris] success in part still depends on how president Biden performs over the next several months. … She will be able to offer the message for the future. … I am sure Donald Trump will keep the economy ‘front and center’, it has been a strong issue for him so far because President Biden was ineffective at responding. If Vice President Harris gets the nomination, she will be able to respond to Trump and articulate an alternative message.”
