SCR managing director Paula Tomei to depart after 44 years

South Coast Repertory (SCR) announced today that managing director Paula Tomei will step down at the end of the current season. She has been with SCR for 44 years, including 30 as managing director. … In her time at SCR, Tomei has received the Arts Orange County Helena Modjeska Cultural Legacy Award, the City of Costa Mesa’s Mayor’s Award, recognition from the Orange County Business Journal, and recognition from her alma mater, the University of California Irvine. She was appointed by the UC Irvine chancellor to the university’s Community Arts Council and is also a board member of Arts Orange County and the Nicholas Endowment. Tomei has taught nonprofit management at UC Irvine and has taught in the business school at Stanford University.
