Disney paid female middle managers $151 million less than male peers, lawsuit claims

The suit, [was] originally filed in 2019 by employee LaRonda Rasmussen …. Her legal team enlisted David Neumark, an economist [and Distinguished Professor] at the University of California, Irvine as an expert witness to examine thousands of Disney internal employment records. He found that since 2015, nonunion female Disney employees below the level of vice president have been paid 2% less than their male counterparts, a gap that the plaintiffs’ lawyers say can only be explained by sex discrimination.
