Outstanding teaching award recipients in social sciences

The School of Social Sciences is pleased to announce the winners of the 2020-21 Dean’s Awards for Outstanding Teaching.
Faculty were nominated for one of three awards to recognize outstanding teaching in the School of Social Sciences. In addition to teaching excellence, the awards recognize a commitment to inclusive excellence and dedication to higher education through the use of innovative methods and mentorship. The selection was done by the school’s Executive Committee.
The 2020-21 awardees are:
- Gary Richardson - Economics, and Rocio Rosales – Sociology, Dr. Joseph L. White Award for Outstanding Mentorship
- Hector Tobar – Chicano/Latino Studies, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching
- Cecelia Lynch – Political Sciences, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Teaching Innovation
The recipients each receive a $2,000 research stipend.
