Kristen Turney who is a sociologist at the University of California, Irvine, through
her lengthy research, what’s been revealed, and it’s quite impactful, which is that
the children of incarcerated parents fare worse than children who’ve experienced the
death of a parent or a divorce. … So much of this happens to be racialized, and we
actually have been involved at the center that I direct at the University of California,
Irvine, in a multi-year study looking at the incarceration rates of girls, and it’s
