UC Irvine graduate Felipe Hernandez recently received the 2019 Sallie Mae Bridging
the Dream Graduate Scholarship …. After graduating from UCI, Hernandez — a Mexican
immigrant and first-generation college student — founded a pro-bono tutoring program
for refugee children and a community organization that aims to help first-generation
students attend college.
