The School of Social Sciences is pleased to announce the winners of the 2018-19 Dean’s Awards for Outstanding Teaching. 

Faculty were nominated for one of three awards to recognize outstanding teaching in the School of Social Sciences. In addition to teaching excellence, the awards recognize a commitment to inclusive excellence and dedication to higher education through the use of innovative methods and mentorship. The selection was done by the school’s Executive Committee.

The 2018-19 awardees are: 

• Rachel Goldberg - Sociology, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching
• Kristen Monroe – Political Science, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Mentorship
• Jacob Avery – Sociology, Dean’s Award for Outstanding Teaching Innovation

The recipients each receive a $2,000 research stipend. A celebratory reception will be held in spring – more details to come.
