Michael Tesler, associate professor of political science at the University of California,
Irvine writes, “But you don’t have to be a conspiracy theorist to understand [Senator
Lindsey] Graham’s behavior. It’s obvious what Trump has on Graham: his voters. Graham’s
criticism of Trump during the 2016 campaign made him remarkably unpopular among Republicans
in his home state — and thus highly vulnerable to a primary challenger for his Senate
