The truth is that both the definition of “sanctuary city” and the proposal of the
incoming Trump administration are murky. Louis DeSipio, a professor of political science
and Chicano-Latino studies and the director of the Center for the Study of Democracy
at UC Irvine, told Ami that this would be an initial challenge for the new administration:
