On 26 February experts discussed how mobile technology can drive inclusive growth. Here’s a snapshot of some of the best examples, plus 10 reasons why using mobile to lift people out of poverty is still difficult, with advice on how to overcome the barriers… Electronic commerce There’s a platform called Soko which helps people sell hand-made crafts online in parts of Africa. (Eddie Copeland). There’s also KopoKopo, connecting mobile to the physical world point of sale, which is crucial if you’re going to get scale.
